Governor Hogan Once Again Leads Bipartisan Effort to Protect Federal Chesapeake Bay Restoration Funding

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is once again leading a bipartisan effort to protect critical federal funding for the environmental restoration of Chesapeake Bay.

Yesterday, Governor Hogan wrote to Republican and Democratic congressional leaders, urging them to increase federal funding for Chesapeake Bay restoration. The Trump administration’s FY 2021 budget proposes a 90% cut to this vital program.

Despite proposed cuts from the Trump administration the two previous years, Governor Hogan led successful bipartisan campaigns to secure Chesapeake Bay restoration funding. In addition to his national advocacy, Governor Hogan has provided a record $6 billion in bay restoration funding. As a result, the Chesapeake Bay is now the cleanest in recorded history.
