As Evidence Mounts “Aggressive and Early Actions” Saved Countless Lives, Governor Hogan Joins Fox News, Virtual Town Hall

Governor Larry Hogan joined Fox News and a virtual town hall to provide an update on Maryland’s ongoing coronavirus response.

As Governor Hogan discussed, he’s been “hoping” to avoid the fate of New York and other states because Maryland took aggressive actions much earlier, being the first or among the first states in the nation to declare a state of emergency, close schools, and close bars and restaurants.

According to White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx, even as cases continue to rise in Maryland at an alarming rate and the National Capital Region becomes an emerging hotspot, it’s already clear that Governor Hogan’s early and aggressive actions saved countless lives. In The White House press briefing yesterday, she cited Maryland as proof that “when you start mitigation early, it has a very different impact.”
