Governor Hogan Calls Out “Collusion” Between Trump and National Democrats on ABC, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal

Governor Hogan joined ABC’s “This Week” and CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper to call out “the unprecedented effort” by national Democrats to “elevate fringe Republican candidates endorsed by Donald Trump,” including in Maryland where the Democratic Governors Association successfully dropped $2 million to help QAnon conspiracy theorist Dan Cox secure the Republican gubernatorial nomination.

This comes as Governor Hogan wrote an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal warning Democrats that their victory in November “will come at the cost of ceding the moral high ground in the fight to defend democracy.”

Governor Hogan on Maryland’s Primary: “It was unprecedented collusion between the Democratic Governors Association and Donald Trump. Both of them were promoting conspiracy theory believing kind of nutjob and DGA spent around $3 million…It was a win for the Democrats. It was a big loss for the Republican party.”

Governor Hogan on Whether He Will Give Up on Republican Party: “It makes me more determined than ever to continue the battle to win over the Republican party and take us back to a more Reaganesque party. We’ve got our work cut out for us, but I’m certainly not giving up.”

Governor Hogan on January 6th: “While the President was watching television and while the Vice President was being whisked off to save his life with members of Congress, I was on the phone with leaders of Congress. I was calling up the national guard. I was sending in the Maryland State Police. We were talking to the Mayor of DC. We were taking action for that whole three hours while the President was watching television.”
