Governor Hogan Offers Lessons From Leading Through Baltimore’s 2015 Riots on CNN’s State of the Union

Governor Hogan appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper to offer lessons from how his experience leading Baltimore through the 2015 riots applies to the current unrest throughout the country.

In that crisis, Governor Hogan acted quickly and decisively to send in the National Guard to restore law and order and to protect peaceful protestors. He also worked to “lower the temperature” on all sides, engaging in outreach to city leaders and walking the streets of Baltimore to listen to the concerns of city residents.

Meanwhile, Governor Hogan continues to make dramatic progress on Maryland’s coronavirus recovery plan. New data this morning shows that the state’s positivity rate is down more than 59% from its peak, while hospitalizations are at their lowest level since April 15th.
