Governor Hogan Announces Maryland Roadmap to Recovery Plan

Only days after releasing a recovery roadmap for the nation’s governors, Governor Hogan has unveiled his recovery roadmap for Maryland.

Governor Hogan’s ‘Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery’ outlines his three-stage approach to gradually and responsibly lift current safety measures based on risk-level. This process will be guided by the expert advice of Governor Hogan’s coronavirus recovery team that includes business and public policy leaders, such as Marriott CEO Arne Sorenson, AEI President Robert Doar, and Under Armour Executive Chairman Kevin Plank, as well top public health experts like former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb and Johns Hopkins Director of the Center for Health Security Tom Ingelsby.

Instead of creating opposing teams with opposing goals, Governor Hogan’s recovery team will have business leaders and public health experts working together with the understanding that economic recovery and protecting public health must work hand in hand.

Although Governor Hogan has cautioned Marylanders that it’s still too early to lift current safety measures without continued sustained reductions of hospitalizations, his early and aggressive steps to successfully flatten and lengthen the curve – as well as his unprecedented actions to secure adequate testing, ramp up supply of PPE, increase hospital surge capacity, and build a robust contact tracing operation – have already put Maryland on the path to recovery.
