With Global Energy Prices Soaring, Governor Hogan Highlights “First of its Kind” State Natural Gas Pipeline Project

As Americans continue to suffer from the high cost of energy, Governor Hogan visited a major state natural gas pipeline project. The ECI pipeline—the first of its kind on the Lower Shore—provides Somerset County with direct access to natural gas for the first time.

While President Biden has cracked down on domestic energy production and canceled the Keystone Pipeline, Governor Hogan has continued to be an advocate for an all-of-the-above energy strategy, calling on the Biden administration to “reverse his policies and restore America’s energy independence by removing his bans on new oil and gas development on federal lands, building the Keystone XL pipeline, and reinstating regulatory reforms to streamline energy permitting.” Governor Hogan was also the first governor in the nation to sign a first-in-the-nation emergency suspension of the gas tax.
