WTAS: An America United Holds Events Celebrating And Focusing On Leadership

On Wednesday, An America United hosted two major events to promote examples of great leadership that’s desperately needed to get America back on the right track. In the morning and afternoon, An America United held its first Annapolis Leadership Summit with discussions between over 100 public and private sector leaders. In the evening, around 1,700 of Governor Hogan’s supporters joined the Governor’s Celebration to celebrate his successful and common sense leadership these last eight years.

Here’s what they’re saying about these events:

Fox News: “Hogan is taking part in a leadership summit in Annapolis, Maryland’s capital city, that’s attracting high-profile GOP leaders such as former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, and retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson…

The summit will be followed by two celebratory events in nearby Baltimore that are hosted by An America United.”

Yahoo News: “Hogan and his wife, Yumi Hogan, Maryland’s first lady, later walked onstage to a band playing an instrumental cover of Sam and Dave’s “Hold on, I’m coming”, as party cannons showered his supporters in confetti. And Hogan regaled his fans with a video touting his underdog wins for governor in staunchly Democratic Maryland and lessons from his father, late Congressman Lawrence Hogan Sr., who broke with his party to support the impeachment of Richard Nixon..”

CBS News: “Bookending his remarks were highly produced videos by Hogan’s political group, ‘An America United,’ which highlighted the Hogan administration’s purported successes, and his response to the pandemic and the Freddie Gray riots.”

AP News: “Before the fundraisers, Hogan held a leadership summit in Annapolis, the Maryland capital, to talk about the future of the country.

Hogan has been a popular governor in a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans 2-to-1. He is only the second Republican governor to ever be reelected in Maryland.”

The Huffington Post: “Hogan told a crowd of 1,700 mostly very dressed-up supporters in a snazzy event hall at the Maryland Live! hotel and casino, where one of Hogan’s PACs, An America United, threw a party Wednesday with the ostensible aim of celebrating Hogan’s tenure as governor.”

The Washington Post: “He strode across the ballroom’s massive stage to say thank you to his wife, Yumi, Lt. Gov. Boyd K. Rutherford ® and his cabinet after a highlight reel of his two terms, which offered accolades from his administration, a friend, state Comptroller Peter Franchot (D) and Hogan’s daughter.”

**WBAL-TV: **“There was a big celebration Wednesday night in Hanover for outgoing Gov. Larry Hogan as he commemorates his eight years in office.”

Fox Baltimore: “Before the fundraisers, Hogan held a leadership summit in Annapolis, the Maryland capital, to talk about the future of the country.”

The Baltimore Sun: “I am not about to give up on the Republican Party or on America. … It’s too important’ Hogan said to a packed crowd of more than 1,300 people at Maryland Live! Casino in Hanover.”
